All of this is sold at local pharmacies (nhà thuốc) — better to put it together now than to hunt for it at night.
What to pack
- Paracetamol — for fever and pain.
- Oresol — for food poisoning and diarrhoea.
- An allergy medicine.
- Repellent and an after-bite cream.
- Sunscreen.
- Plasters, a bandage, povidone-iodine.
- A thermometer.
- Your regular medicine, with extra.
Be careful
- Antibiotics are sold here without a prescription — don't take them without a doctor.
- Unfamiliar names — show the pharmacist the active ingredient, not the brand.
- Not better in 2–3 days — see a doctor, not a pharmacist.
